What Makes Us Unique?

Below are unique aspects of Talking Time which differentiates us from other preschools.

Ø     At TTLC we hold parent-teacher confernces every six months to discuss a student's progress and recommend areas of learning that may still need addressed.  This allows the staff at Talking Time to establish specific goals with the family tailored for each child’s deficit area and report the child’s progress on a regular basis.

Ø     After evaluating every child, they are given a personal plan of education (POE) focusing on their individual areas of weaknesses. We provide progress reports every twelve weeks to document progress

Ø     Curriculum is developed by the Directors who have over 22 years of combined experience working with preschool children.

Ø     There are separate rooms that focus on different areas of development that will provide language rich opportunities.  Research shows that language skills are enhanced when movement is incorporated  (vestibular activities, tactile stimulation, use of various manipulatives, etc.).

o      There is a sensory room specifically designed to stimulate  language skills through the use of visual tasks, vestibular activities and proprioceptive tasks. Children learn through sensory input and motor activity.  This room allows children to easily move around and explore materials.

o      There is an art room that will use manipulative activities to develop fine motor skills that are necessary for school readiness.

o      A large indoor activity room is utilized for gross motor skills, peer interaction, social development, and opportunity to generalize communication skills.

Ø     Most toys and materials are out of the children’s reach to enhance opportunities for intentional communication between teacher and child.

Ø

Ø     Each classroom has a one-way window to allow parents and staff to observe class room activity without the child seeing you.

Ø     Each classroom is led by a teacher with a B.S. or B.A. degree in education  (or an associated field).
